Anthony Millican is Director of Communications and External Affairs. He is an award-winning school PR professional with nearly 20 years of experience in school communications, public relations, and grant writing. He is a “recovering journalist”—a former newspaper reporter who worked at the Los Angeles Times, Orlando Sentinel, and San Diego Union-Tribune. While at the Union-Tribune, his “beats” included the construction of what is now known as Petco Park. Prior to coming to High Tech High, he served as Communications Director in the Chula Vista Elementary School District, which he served for 13 years. He also worked as grants and communications manager in a local high school district. He is a Chargers fan and Padres fan (ouch and ouch). He’s watched every episode of the comedy series Ted Lasso. Twice. “I believe in hope. I believe in BELIEVE.”
