Math — Erik Figge

Hello there! My name is Erik Figge, and I am excited to be the 11th-grade math teacher once again this year. I was born and raised in San Diego and have spent time living in Iowa, Chicago, and Kansas City. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Grinnell College and my Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. I am passionate about building students’ confidence in mathematics and broadening perspectives around mathematical thinking through the utilization of math modeling to approach real-world problems. Outside of class, I coach cross-country as well as track and field, while also enjoying playing, watching, and analyzing a variety of sports.
