Ms. Kelsey is a San Diego native who grew up in Oceanside, CA. She is very excited to continue working at HTe this year! She has been a 2nd and 4th grade teacher there and has gotten to know and teach many students! She loves the joy and learning that happens throughout the school year, no matter the age. She graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s in Spanish and Linguistics and then got her teaching credential from CSUSM. Before finding her home at HTe, she worked abroad as an ESL teacher, was a social-emotional mentor in a middle school, and taught grades 1, 2, 5 and 6 in a different school! She loves to encourage curiosity daily in her students and help them find their passions.

When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, daughter and french bulldog. They like to try new restaurants, go to the zoo and enjoy warm and sunny weather outside. When Ms. Kelsey has some down time, her favorite way to recharge is with a good book!
