My name is Liv Teforlack, a.k.a. Teacher Liv! I am an abolitionist teacher who believes in student access to deeper learning, anti-racist teaching practices, and research-driven education. I was born and raised on the east side of Los Angeles and moved to San Diego to attend UC San Diego. I’m proud to call myself a first-generation college student with a B.S. in Education Sciences and a B.A. in Black Diaspora and African American Studies. I’m also currently earning my M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning through High Tech High Graduate School of Education. I am excited to share my core teaching beliefs and practices, such as centering culturally responsive pedagogy, Black liberatory frameworks, and lived experiences.
