Natalie was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona and graduated from the University of San Diego in 2007 with bachelor’s degrees in both English and Spanish. She began her teaching career with Teach For America in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she taught high school English for four years. Natalie returned to San Diego to pursue a master’s degree at the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies and happily discovered High Tech High.
In addition to her role as an educator, Natalie is also a mom to three young children and the wife of an active duty US Navy service member. Her husband’s military career has given their family the opportunity to live, work and explore all over the United States. She has taught in five different states and at nine different schools, but there is nowhere quite like High Tech High Mesa. Natalie is honored to be a part of the HTHM community as a 12th grade English teacher.
