In elementary school I was in resource classes (special education) because I struggled with Dyslexia and Auditory-Processing Disorder. For the students that struggle with math, reading, writing, or ESL, I can not only relate to their frustration, but I can use my story to inspire students to succeed as I have. I love sharing my mantra with them; “I can, I will, I did!”
My goal is to inspire all students to love learning as much as I do. I started my love for teaching when I was 17, lifeguarding, coaching swim team, and teaching swimming lessons. I moved to San Diego to go to SDSU to become a teacher. Since that move 8 years ago it has always been my dream to teach art and now my dream has come true at HTMCV! I believe trust, communication and compromise are the most important elements of a healthy student teacher relationship because when these pillars are strong, there is no obstacle the students or teachers cannot overcome together.
In my free time I love to hike in national parks, bicycle, go to the beach, paint, spend time with family, golf, play video games, basketball, and cheer on the Golden State Warriors.
