Ms. Bex is excited to begin her fourth year at HTMMA, marking her 18th year in education. Originally from Salem, Massachusetts, she pursued her Secondary Education degree at Boston University before moving to Honolulu, Hawai’i. In Hawaii, Ms. Bex taught high school and middle school social studies for 14 years while earning her M.Ed in Curriculum Studies at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, where she is currently completing her EdD.

Although she misses her time in Hawai’i, Ms. Bex has embraced the vibrant energy of San Diego and is thrilled to call it home. In her classroom, she is passionate about engaging students and empowering them to voice their opinions on significant issues, aiming to foster effective communication and critical thinking skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Outside of teaching, Ms. Bex enjoys cooking new recipes, exploring hiking trails, and traveling to new destinations. She is also a proud parent to a beautiful baby girl who brings immense joy to her life. Ms. Bex is looking forward to a fantastic year with Team Trailblazers and is excited to embark on this learning journey with her students!
