Claire has been a member of the HTe community since 2016, when she started as an Academic Coach on the Second Grade team. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and worked in Finance before making the career switch to teaching. She earned her teaching credential through the HTH credentialing program and has been teaching first grade since 2017. Claire feels fortunate to have found a grade level that matches her energy level, sense of humor, and interest in life’s absurdities. One of her favorite first grade lessons to teach is that you can’t make the sounds for ‘m’ or ‘n’ while holding your nose.

Claire is passionate about building community within and around her classroom, helping students and families show up fully as their best selves. She is passionate about helping our students become more independent and empathetic problem-solvers.
