Let me introduce myself to you all. I am Cora Long. I grew up in the New Orleans area and moved to San Diego in 2001 for grad school. I spent most of my summer’s here visiting my grandparents and this area has always felt like home to me. I knew at some point that I would make it my home. As an undergrad, I went to school to be a teacher then I went for my master’s and fell into the local government environmental arena for a number of years. Then I had my two kids, Sandra 12 and CJ 9. After being a stay at home mom for a few years, I am back in education. I believe in making education accessible to everyone and believe that everyone is beautiful and capable of learning. My favorite part of being a teacher is finding out what passions my students have and helping them share those passions with others. A few of my passions are reading, sewing, knitting, and spending time in the outdoors. I am looking forward to meeting all of you this year.
