I was that kid who always carried a book around and now I teach 7th grade Humanities. I grew up in California (South and North) and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Anthropology and an English Minor. As a practicing acupuncturist, I also have a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Plus, I’m a practicing stand up comedian. Before teaching at High Tech, I taught many students around the world English as a Second Language for about 20 years. I have two sons, one who just graduated from High Tech Media Arts and the other is in 11th grade. My favorite thing is when students discover they enjoy learning and communicating in words or on paper. My second favorite things is laughing together in community. In my free time, I tell the plants in my garden that I’m proud of them and talk to my cat Murray, and my dog, Sid Vicious.
