Jenny Bourassa is a science educator, curriculum designer, teacher coach, and mentor. She enjoys working with teachers at all stages of their educational journey and believes that building relationships is the key to transformative educational experiences. She began her teaching journey on Catalina Island first as a Marine Science Instructor at CIMI (Catalina Island Marine Institute) and later as Program Director. She then moved back home to San Diego and worked at HTHCV (High Tech High Chula Vista), both as a math/science teacher and as a Science Instructional Coach.
In her current role as an Instructional Coach at HTMMA (High Tech Middle Media Arts) she works to provide teachers the support needed to grow and expand their practice, pushing towards student-centered experiences and equitable learning spaces. Additionally, she works with San Diego Teacher Residency (through the HTH GSE) as both a course instructor and fieldwork supervisor teaching residents who are just beginning their journey into education.
When she isn’t working with students and teachers, she can be found listening to an audiobook, in the ocean, or out in nature with her two boys.
