I grew up throughout California, including the high desert north of Los Angeles, San Diego, and Grass Valley/Nevada City. While earning my Bachelor’s degree, I worked a variety of jobs, including as an EMT and at a District Attorney’s office. I attended community college and UC Santa Cruz, but I officially graduated from UC Davis where I studied anthropology. I joined the HTH community in 2011 and have my teaching credentials in biology, social science, and English. I earned my Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2019 where I focused my capstone project on culturally responsive teaching and ethnic studies. From 2022-2023, I worked with San Diego Unified to support teachers in implementing ethnic studies. Outside of teaching, I love reading, watching and talking about movies, playing beach volleyball, hiking, weightlifting, hanging out with my cats and dog, visiting deserts and forests, drinking tea, meditating, stargazing, and finding joy with my partner, Aurmon.
