Hello! I was born and raised in Chula Vista and am so happy to be serving in the area of my roots. After graduating high school, I attended Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor’s in sociology and a minor in elementary and secondary education as well as my California teaching credential. Before committing to my own classroom, I felt I needed more field experience so I joined an AmeriCorps program called City Year to serve in a school Seattle, Washington as a Math/Reading/Behavioral Interventionist. In 2018, I went on to teach 6th grade mathematics in the Denver Schools of Science and Technology network while earning a master’s degree in teaching. While I loved my travels and exposure to new cities while growing as an educator, I knew I wanted to settle down back home in San Diego, so I began to look for a job that brought me back home. In 2020, I started my journey in the High Tech network as a 7th grade Math and Science Instructor at the High Tech Middle Mesa campus and taught for 3 years. Though I love the classroom and still loved working with kids, I knew I wanted to specialize my talents and keep learning to ensure all of my students were getting what they needed. In 2023, I joined the High Tech Bridge program to become certified as a Special Education teacher and am now so happy to be the 8th grade Inclusion Specialist this year!
