Stefan Soriano, born and raised in San Jose, California, developed a passion for social sciences through the stories and experiences of his grandparents and family members who were lifelong educators. This inspiration led him to pursue a career in education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Education from San Diego State University, followed by a teaching credential from San Jose State University. After two years of teaching in the Bay Area, he returned to San Diego, where he has spent the last three years teaching and substituting across various social science subjects, including World History, Government, and Economics. Stefan is dedicated to creating an inclusive learning environment where students critically engage with social justice issues and explore the complexities of the world. His teaching aims to inspire students to think critically, challenge societal injustices, and contribute to a more equitable society. Outside the classroom, Stefan enjoys reading, surfing, spending quality time with friends, playing outdoor sports and Dungeons and Dragons, attending music shows, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.
